1. How does the design that you created demonstrate your knowledge of Magazine Design and the parts of a magazine cover and interior?

The design I created demonstrates my knowledge of Magazine Design because I incorporate elements such as subheads, folios, pull quotes, and etc. The utilization of these elements show that I am well versed in the requirements needed to create a successful magazine.

2. In what ways does your magazine connect to the corporate identity of the magazine? What are some design cues that you used from the existing magazine?

The magazine connects to the corporate identity of teen vogue because it has the same format and font pairings. Headlines and important information are san serif fonts to create an eye- catching effect. Teen vogue also places pictures in more of a laid-back collage way to keep the aesthetic young and chill. Some design cues that I used from existing magazines were using a two column format rather than a three, one, or four. In addition, I placed the pull quote in a similar format that they used for their March 2016 issue. Many other editions also used big colored quotation marks to grab the readers' eye.

3. How did completing the brainstorming packet and sketches affect your design process?

Completing the brainstorming packet affected my design process because it helped organize my ideas. The packet made it easier to execute the project because my plans and ideas were already laid out.

4. How did you like working with a partner? How do you think working with a partner makes the design process easier and more difficult?

I didn't love working with a partner because I enjoy working at my own pace and executing my own ideas. However, working with a partner made it easier to get the project done on time because another person was taking care of half the project.

5. Looking at your partner’s design, if you were to design your partner’s portion by yourself how would it look different? What would you have changed?

If I were to design my partner's portion myself I would not change much because the cover truly did capture the essence of a teen vogue cover. If I had to change anything, it might've been the fonts and the color. I do think the rose color complements the photographs however, an extra color might've given the magazine more of a fun feel.

6. Describe the ideal partner (co-worker / co –designer)?

The ideal partner has the same ideas as you because it is easier to match designs. Also, an ideal partner would offer constructive criticism in order to ensure the best quality work.
